They include setting, location, costumes, acting, hair and make-up, and tone. Film producers use these codes to add depth and meaning to media products. These codes can be interpreted differently by the audience based to their social and cultural influences.  The 2017 film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is a Science Fiction (Sci-Fi) movie.
